With Groove's ability to log emails and calendar events to Salesforce, your activities can be automatically associated to the correct leads, contacts, accounts, opportunities, and cases in Salesforce by default. In addition, beyond the automatic association that Groove does by default, using Search and Select allows you to log your activities to any records of your choosing, including different contacts from the auto-association, custom objects, and multiple records at a time.

Note: This feature is currently in Beta. Please ask your Groove admin to reach out to your CSM if you'd like to have it enabled for you

Admin Configuration

Salesforce admins are able to choose the standard and custom objects that your team can log activities to.

  1. Go to Manage My Org > Profile Settings

  2. Choose which profile (or the Organization Wide Default) that you'd like to update Search and Select settings for

  3. Update the Search and Select objects, and save

Note: by default, the Search and Select objects include Leads, Contacts, Accounts, Opportunities, and Cases. If you include a custom object in your Search and Select objects, you will need to re-add the standard objects to the selection

Logging emails to custom objects

With Search and Select, you can choose the records associated to your outbound emails as well as inbound emails:

Outbound Emails

  1. Compose a New Message, and Open Groove

  2. To the right of the "Send with Groove" button, click the magnifying glass icon

  3. Search for any record, and click Attach

  4. Send with Groove!

Inbound Emails or Existing Emails

  1. Select an email, and Open Groove

  2. To the right of the "Log to Salesforce" button, click the magnifying glass icon

  3. Search for any record, and click "Log to Salesforce"

*Note: If an email is already logged to Salesforce, you can log it to another record or multiple records by using Search and Select

Logging calendar events to custom objects

With Search and Select, you can also choose which records are associated to the events that you create, or existing events you are invited to.

Events you create or edit

  1. Create or edit an event, and Open Groove

  2. To the right of the "Log to Salesforce" checkbox, click the magnifying glass icon

  3. Search for any record, and click "Attach"

  4. Send out the invitation

Note: Events that you create or edit will be logged ~5 minutes after you send out the invitation

Existing events

  1. Open an existing event, and Open Groove

  2. To the right of the "Log to Salesforce" button, check the magnifying glass icon

  3. Search for any record, and click "Log to Salesforce"

Note: If an event is already logged to Salesforce, you can update which records it is associated to by using Search and Select
