Groove’s upcoming upgrade of our Chrome Extension increases productivity and effectiveness everywhere your customer-facing teams work. This upgrade will improve your Groove experience by optimizing performance, speed, reliability along with several new features & enhancements:

  • Streamlined Salesforce Workflows – View key data, access your flows, make calls or emails, and create actions from Salesforce pages and reports with a single click.

  • Enhanced Notifications and Email Tracking Stay on top of your accounts and key events with an improved Notifications UI and rich email tracking information in more places.

  • Improved Onboarding, Settings, and Troubleshooting: We've made onboarding smoother for new users, customizing it based on their roles. You can conveniently access important settings from the extension and quickly resolve any account issues.

The Release Plan

The rollout will start in stages, beginning the week of November 12th, and all customers will have the new extension by mid-December. The best part is that your users don't need to do anything to enjoy these improvements unless you're participating in the beta. If you have any questions or would like early access to the upgraded extension, please reach out to your dedicated Customer Success Manager.

Updated Features

This section shows high-level preview information around each of the features within the upgraded version of the Groove extension. We will be supplementing this documentation with demo videos & deep dive documentation on each feature as we get closer to the full release in mid-November.

Users are prompted to customize the Extension experience to fit their role and team.

Groove Functionality in Salesforce

Whether you want to quickly call a prospect or send over an email, create an action for yourself, add to flow/spaces to work on later, or simply have an easier way of navigating your own Salesforce, the Groove extension is right there in your workflow.

Streamline workflows and provide additional ways for sellers to take action within Salesforce.

Note: Only for OmniDialer customers

Initiate outbound calls by clicking on phone numbers detected in the key pages in Salesforce.

Click-to-email

Note: only for customers using OmniActions

Fire off quick emails from Salesforce without disrupting your workflow.

Quickly add contacts/leads to a flow from their Salesforce record page

Create Actions

Note: only for customers using OmniActions

Create, assign, and execute actions wherever contacts and leads are in Salesforce.

List View and Salesforce report Support

  • Call, email, and create actions from List Views and Salesforce reports.

  • Add multiple contacts to Flows in bulk from List Views.

  • Add accounts or opportunities to Spaces directly from their Salesforce record page or list views

Features being Sunset

With the new extension, we have enhanced many features, and we have also removed some features for a few different reasons. This section describes the features that are being sunset, and why.

Create Task via the extension popup

We are sunsetting this feature for a few different reasons:

  • We now give users the ability to create & view their tasks directly in Omnibar

  • In Omnibar their admins can configure the fields that are relevant to their team’s tasks that they want to create

  • We are currently optimizing the “one-off” actions experience which will also be much more robust than arbitrary Salesforce tasks, as they’ll be connected to Groove templates, action types, Groove data, and SFDC data as well

View Dashboards via the Extension

We are sunsetting these dashboards because we now have much more powerful analytics products (Groove Analytics, Outcomes, and Groove Insights), so the above dashboards are largely obsolete. Instead of linking to the old dashboards, we have added links to all the key pages in Groove from the extension popup:
